Red Gold Review and Giveaway

Happy New Year!  I am excited to be able to start the New Year off with a giveaway thanks to Red Gold!

Have you ever heard of Red Gold tomato products?  If not you are missing out.  I had not heard about them until I was contacted about trying some of their tomatoes.  Red Gold can be found in your local Kroger stores.

A little more about the Red Gold company:

Red Gold has been producing premium quality tomato products since 1942. Red Gold produces premium quality canned tomatoes and tomato-based products for retail, foodservice, private brands, and club stores. The Red Gold family of consumer brands includes Red Gold, Redpack, Tuttorosso, and Sacramento.  Exceptional quality and operational excellence are the shared values that contributed to the employee-created mission statement: “To produce the freshest, best tasting tomato products in the world”

I got  six different cans to try including Red Gold Diced tomatoes and Red Gold Tomatoes with Green Chilies.  First I used the diced tomatoes in a chicken vegetable soup that I made.  Before adding it to my soup I decided to eat a spoonful.  I was very surprised that it was like biting into a fresh tomato straight from the garden.  Growing up with parents that always had a garden (still do) it was so nice to get that fresh taste out of a can.  I have used canned tomatoes many times in my cooking and these are hands down the best I have tasted.

I also tried the Red Gold Tomatoes with the Green Chilies.  I mixed those up with a can of black beans and put it on my tacos.  The chilies were mild so not as spicy as I normally would like but still very yummy.

If you can’t find Red Gold in your local Kroger store you can purchase them from the website here.
